Design and Development

The course will be broken down into 12 modules. This will allow the course to follow the traditional school year. There will be 3 modules required for each quarter so that grades can be reported on the quarterly report card. The teacher will be responsible for tracking and motivating students.  The teacher can use the built in reports from the Learning Management System (LMS) to track the individual students .

Each module will contain separate lessons that will include individual and collaborative work.  Each student will maintain a personal blog within the LMS. The blog topics will be given during each module as part of the lesson. Each student will be required to comment on two other students’ blogs during each module. There will also be a discussion-based assessment in each module to insure academic integrity. A discussion-based assessment consists of a phone call with the teacher to review material that the student has completed.
